(RTTNews) - Swiss retail sales rose for a second straight month in March, albeit at a markedly slower pace, data from the Federal Statistical Office showed Monday.
Sales of food, beverages and tobacco declined 1.3 percent,, while non-food sales excluding fuel rose 2.6 percent.
Year-on-year, unadjusted retail sales were broadly unchanged in March. Sales dropped a real 0.2 percent, after rising 1.8 percent in the previous month, which was revised up from 1.5 percent.
Excluding fuel, sales declined 0.6 percent annually, following February's 1.3 percent increase. Sales of food and beverages fell 0.5 percent, while non-food sales moved up 1.6 percent.
